Planted!

I have planted my first batch of seeds and I am very excited about them. I'm also kind of nervous that they're not going to grow and they're all going to be really terrible, but I'm sure it will be fine. Now it's a matter of being patient, which I know is the hardest part.
So I planted the seeds in their little toilet roll holders, labeled and watered them and then when I came in the next morning, the toilet rolls were really wet (not soggy but definitely thoroughly wet) which I suppose makes sense because I watered the seeds and the soil obviously made the cardboard wet.
Now, this could either be a good thing or a bad thing. It could be good because it might be a good indication for me if the soil needs to be watered or not (I'm really worried about overwatering) because if the cardboard is still wet then the soil must still be moist and if the cardboard is dry then the soil is dry and needs to be watered again. But I'm also concerned that it's a red herring and the cardboard might stay damp longer than the soil. I also just realized in this moment that the damp cardboard might keep the soil colder than it should be. But they're in the apartment and my apartment is quite warm so it should be fine.
Anyway, I will spend the next weeks worrying that they're not going to be ok, but at least they're planted now!!
