Day 1

As you can see, it's Jan. 7, so I'm already behind. But that's ok. It's all ok. We're going to be chill gardeners. 365 days of gardening doesn't have to start from Jan. 1. It can start from now. NOW!

My name is Courtney and my apartment is sometimes known as a houseplant graveyard (though I resent this name because I do have a few plants who have managed to hang on through the years, though this is probably because they are particularly resilient and has very little to do with me).

However, I've decided that this year, this year, not only am I going to try, once and for all to see if I can really garden, but I figure if I can focus on my plants for 365 days, maybe, just maybe they will thrive and not just survive (or maybe I will discover that I truly need to find a new hobby).

Now, you may be thinking, but Courtney, that picture on the front of your website looks so beautiful, your balcony is already so lovely. Well, joke's on you because that's not actually my balcony. That is how I would like my balcony to look, but right now it looks like this:

But in my defence ... sometimes those chairs have cushions. So. Not all bad. Anyway, this is the point. I'm going to learn how to garden. If you don't know how to garden and you want to learn too, come along! If you do know how to garden and you'd like to help me through the process, come along!
